Review: Theraworx Relief

I kept seeing commercials for this Theraworx Relief foam.   (affiliate link)

The commercials had a woman talking about how she was finally free from leg cramps and such and I didn't give it much thought.  Well, you can bet after the Great Valentine's Night Lock Up of 2018 that I needed ALL of the things in my arsenal to hopefully ensure that would never happen again.  So I remembered this foam and decided to give it a try.

It promised to prevent cramps and spasms, release muscle tightness and reduce muscle soreness.  I wondered if this could benefit me when I overdid it on strength sessions too.  It works by getting magnesium directly to the affected muscle when a cramp or spasm happens but it is better used as a preventative measure so you don't get them in the first place.  This is what one pump looks like.

You need a minimum of 2 pumps for your feet and calves and 4 pumps for a larger surface area like your quads or hamstrings.

I was pretty bummed to see that two parabens are in the ingredient list.  I stay away from them like the plague since they're estrogen disruptors but since I'm pretty careful about them in the rest of the stuff I buy, I guess I'll make an exception for this.

In the future, it'd be nice to get it without them if possible so yeah Theraworx work on that.  ;-)

My experience with it has been good.  When I got it, I was still recovering from extreme soreness from the tightening of the inner thigh muscles and it was quite twitchy.  Within 30 seconds of applying the Theraworx Relief foam (affiliate link), I had relief that was enough for me to be able to walk without flinching.  It's helped loosen up ridiculously tight calf muscles too.  I also used it after some Grastoning of scar tissue in my arm that left me pretty dang sore and limited in even being able to lift my water bottle.  It wasn't instant relief with that because so much is involved but within the hour, the throbbing was completely gone and I was able to lift my bottle with that arm.

They suggest using it morning and night before bed for the best results.  I use it in the morning if I'm feeling sore because I also take a magnesium supplement to help keep cramps at bay.  I haven't had the "joy" of dealing with a cramp and I don't know that unless I had ones as horrific as that night that I'd be able to make it to the bottle in time unless I had it in a holster on my side.  I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from leg/foot cramps as well as muscle soreness.  It takes a little longer to work on the workout-related soreness but still effective and any relief is good!

Do you get leg cramps on the regular?

  1. I don't get muscle cramps much, but because of a broken ankle years ago and a knee issue, when I hit 10k steps or better a day those two let me know it. If its bad enough I will use a couple aleve pm to get to sleep, otherwise some extra strength aspercreme on the affected areas releases enough pain and calming to the area for effective sleep.

  2. Not regularly, but even once in a while is a real pain. I might buy some of this just to have on hand. My hubs gets them more often (esp. after he takes a certain medication) and he might like to use it too. Thanks for the info!

  3. I have this on hand from when you first told me about it. Haven't had to use it but am happy it's ready to use when I need it. I get a lot of cramping in my feet and calves, and can usually undo the kinks. But for those bad ones, this is what I'll use.
